The Healing Place
Nubian runs The Healing Place, a wellness center focused on holistic health in Oakland, CA
This has been a year of major transformation for The Healing Place. As you know, I had a beautiful baby boy and scaled the clinic hours way back to accommodate my exciting new role as a mother. Slowing down has allowed me the time, space and opportunity to take a good look at how Acupuncture and Chinese medicine is offered and utilized by my patients and the community at large.
I've been reminded of why I began this journey and how passionate I am about healing and helping others to do the same. I believe that health care should be accessible to everyone and I believe that it can be sustainable. That is why I have been inspired by Working Class Acupuncture of Portland to adopt the "Community Clinic" model.
The "Community Clinic" model is a brilliant way to make health care accessible to everyone - no matter where you are on the pay scale. This model involves receiving treatments in a group setting thereby permitting the clinic to reduce the cost of care to each patient AND allowing the clinic to thrive.
Community acupuncture is provided on a sliding scale of $25-$40 and community massage for $1/min (with a $10 new patient paperwork fee). You decide what you can pay. At times you may be able to afford more and at other times you may need to pay less. This system makes that workable. No income verification is needed.
I am so excited to become a part of this movement and contribute to the health care solution.
My Clinic is located in Oakland California and I can be contacted through my website
